What is MiFi?
Mobile WiFi – or MiFi – enables you to use wireless internet through a 3G or 4G phone network. Therefore, MiFi internet provides standard 4G connection speeds dependent on coverage and how many people are sharing the hotspot.
Through the use of a MiFi unit, multiple users are able to share a single broadband connection. Likewise, by having your own WiFi hotspot, you can continue being productive on multiple devices, whether you’re working from home or on the move.
Pros
- Can use several devices at one time, whilst several users can use the network at any given time
- Does not need to be plugged into a USB port and therefore can be placed for optimum connectivity
Cons
- Need to keep an eye on data usage, as using a MiFi unit can eat into your data if you do not have a generous limit
- Connectivity speed decreases the more people utilise the hotspot
