Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) uses fibre optic lines but delivers broadband straight to your premises.

As a result, FTTP provides a much faster and more reliable service compared to FTTC, as the service is end-to-end fibre and not copper-based. Therefore, the speed of FTTP connectivity is completely unaffected as the service is not reliant on the distance of the telephone line.

Pros
  • More stable and faster service due to end-to-end fibre and speeds not reliant on distance of telephone line
  • FTTP is scalable – you can upgrade your speed at any time
Cons
  • No guaranteed SLAs
  • Only certain areas have FTTP. However, you can install FTTP services but this will increase costs and require an installation period, resulting in some downtime.
