Square One’s Business Development Manager, Lisa Harris, recently joined the Caerphilly Cariad Group of the Women in Business Network (WIBN). With a passion for helping local businesses grow through stronger communication and connectivity, Lisa’s involvement with WIBN brings added value to the community – and a new way for local women in business to access support, advice, and collaboration.
Why Lisa Joined WIBN
Lisa understands that real connection in business goes beyond phone lines and broadband. It’s about people, relationships, and shared purpose. WIBN offers just that – a supportive space for women across industries to meet, share insights, and lift each other up.
WIBN Caerphilly is a vibrant group made up of professionals including estate agents, financial planners, insurance brokers, utility specialists, marketers, coaches and more. Meetings are held monthly at Geshmak (near Caerphilly Castle), where the agenda combines structured introductions with relaxed and purposeful conversation.
What’s Discussed
At each meeting, members share their “monthly minute” to introduce their business and ideal referrals, followed by a featured business spotlight and a themed discussion. Recent topics have included “To AI or Not to AI?” – a practical and interactive look at how artificial intelligence is impacting real businesses.
There are also regular socials, training events, and online meetups, such as:
- “Let’s Talk” – monthly Zoom sessions exclusive to members
- “Women In” events – open networking for those in sectors like finance, wellbeing, and property
- Coffee mornings, wellness events, and seasonal socials
A Community of Support
Lisa has already connected with a wide variety of women in business through WIBN, and is particularly inspired by the collaborative, welcoming spirit of the Caerphilly group. From florists to fire safety consultants, utility brokers to charity fundraisers, the group brings together a rich mix of talent and experience.
